Jim Stokes

Retired Human Resources Professional

Jim is a retired human resource professional and started his career at Union Carbide in 1970 and continued until the plant closure by UCAR in 1999. Jim is a second generation Carbider. He worked in a variety of positions including Human Resources, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental and plant supervision.  After closure Jim worked in Human Resources at Salit Steel and Rich Products of Canada Limited.  Jim is a past President of the Human Resource Professionals association of Niagara and held the CHRP designation while still working. In retirement Jim has volunteered for: Niagara College Human Resource Program Advisory Committee, the Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Mental Health Association, and as the leader for a Motorcycle Ride called the Mustache Ride, which has donated more than $35,000 to Ride for Dad (Prostate Cancer research and education). He and wife Sandy enjoy travelling and their growing family.
