Paul is a lifelong resident of Waterloo Region in Ontario, Canada. Paul graduated from Waterloo Lutheran  University, Waterloo, Ontario 1973 with a BA, University of Windsor, Ontario in 1976 with and LLB and a Masters of Law degree in 1978 from the London School of Economics and Political Science, London, England. Following graduation Paul joined a local well established legal firm (Clement Eastman) and left that firm in 1987 to established a new law firm in 1987. Paul continues to practice law as a senior partner of McCarter Grespan which has grown to approximately 50 lawyers and staff . Paul’s practice is restricted to Corporate Finance, Merger, Acquisitions and Divestures for both private and small cap public companies and Real Estate and Land Development for large scale greenfield and brownfield sites. Paul provides legal insight, strategic thinking and practical, thoughtful and effective advice based on many years of practice and experience as an owner. Paul also established a land development and consulting firm (now known as Gatestone Group) in 1997 providing consulting services to land developers and itself owning and developing land and continues to be very active in land development in South-western Ontario.
